Club Dive Day Sunday 10 August 2008

You have to love scuba divers they are such a crazy bunch of
people. They wake up at the early ours of the morning to go diving and look at
this for a morning temperature of 4 degrees c.

Its Sunday August 10th 2008 the first
sunshiny day in weeks. Pack the car with the gear and go to the shop. To find a
few of the craziest divers in the club. Standing outside to wait and see who is
coming to dive and freeze my toes off while doing so. At almost half past we
decided to leave for Mc Greggors bay to do this crazy thing they call diving.
What a nice trip it was too. Thanks to Trudy and hubby for the sausages and the
hot cup of coffee after the dive it was a great treat. Now this is the best
part see as there are 3 crazies attempting to this thing. Here are the three
bravest club members to attempt this thing they call diving in the cold.

Unfortunately , the visibility was poor and the water was
freezing.

Ever stuck your head into a freezer, and getting a headache from it, well that’s
how it felt anyway.

We swam for what felt to be hours to get to the point and go
diving finally, we descended to find out that you can’t even see half a meter
in front of you. No worries we are there so we are doing his thing they call
searching for crayfish. Yeah right you start
near the rocks and soon you get totally lost only to find ourselves back
into the centre of the bay away from the rocks. How nice is that.

Lets just say about twenty minutes later we decided to get
back out to shore and then the same thing happened again. We swam what felt
like hours but we finally got there and we had the nicest cup of hot coffee and
a sausage with bread and tomato sauce.
We talked for a while about diving and sharks and the adventures we had in the
past. After all the outing was a great one and finally we got to get out of the
house for a change.

Sorry to the ones that were too scared or too lazy to join
in the fun.

For the ones that had a genuine excuse we forgive you for
not joining in.

We look forward to diving with you at future club events.

Awosme!! Wish i couldve come, i know some spots out there. I was up in kaitaia playing paintball.
